Dirty Christians: How can we expect our lives to be good, when we are so dirty in our walk with Christ?

Isaiah 64:6-"But we are all as an unclean

thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we

all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have

taken us away."

Thank goodness we have a forgiving God, because there is not one single thing we can do to earn our way into Heaven. Let's get that straight right now. Nothing you DO, besides believing, can get you into the most beautiful place ever created, by the loving God above us. If you believe that God sent His son, Jesus, to die on the cross for EVERYONES sin, you can be saved right now. All you have to do is believe. No work will get you there.. For our works and our righteousnessess are as "filthy rags" to God. He lets us come to Heaven because He loves us and Christ died for us. We are all "dirty Christians."

We are all sinners. Period.

No one is perfect. Period.

Are you the same person on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, or whatever other social media you have as you are in real life? Or is there a mask. As easily and we filter our photos, we filter what people see. We only post what makes us look good. No only beautiful on the outside, but the inside too. "Oh I just got back from a mission trip!" Oh well have you prayed today? Have you spent time with Christ today? Ha. I'm as guilty of it as anyone.

Think about your day. Think about what this world is coming to. The recent decision to allow homosexual marriage in this country has caused an uproar. We complain because this world is getting worse everyday. Christians are backing away from Christianity and God because they don't want to offend anyone. Well I'm here to tell you... It's wrong. The confederate flag issue.. I mean really? What is causing all of this sudden chaos? Oh wait! Its not sudden. This world has been going south for years. Why? Because of me. Because of you.

Satan is working inside all of us.

How many of you say you are a Christian, but you drank this weekend?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but you are in homosexual relationship?
How many of you want a better marriage, but aren't submitting to your husband? Or not treating your wife with respect?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but you got high this weekend?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but you let a cuss word slip today?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but didn't read the Bible today?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but you didn't talk to your father today?
How many of you say you are a Christian, complain about the world, but don't look at the beam in your own eye?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but you have never told anyone about Jesus?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but haven't been saved?
How many of you say you are a Christian, a saved Christian, but haven't joined the church in baptism?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but don't go to church, or not as much as you should?
How many of you say you are a Christian, but haven't stood up for God?

It hurts to hear the truth. I can go through there and say yes to some of those questions. I know I'm not perfect. I strive to be better, but never will I be perfect. Only He is perfect. Saying you're a Christian and actually being "Christ-like" are two completely different things.

But what kind of witness are we giving if we cant even stand up for God? We are dirty Christians. Our best works are as filthy rags to God. So what does He think of our not so good deeds?

By giving a witness on social media, that says "I'm a Christian!," doesn't cut it. We can't pretend. He sees our heart of hearts. And if someone sees you proclaiming Christ on social media, but drinking this weekend, what does that say? It says, I don't respect God. I can do whatever I want because I'm saved and going to Heaven anyways. Why are we living this way? We wonder why the world is so bad, but we can't even say no to alcohol, drugs, profanity. How are we going to witness for God with those actions?! And the bad thing is, Christians encourage each other to sin! We hang around people who God is not pleased with.. That encourage each other to live like the world. We are leading ourselves, and others away from Christ! If you cause someone else not to be saved, because of your witness, what do you think God will have to say to you when you arrive at those pearly gates in the sky.

If we, saved Christians, can't choose to put Christ in the center of our life and devote our life to Him, how can we expect this world to be peaceful? How can we lead others to Him? He didn't put us on this earth to "live it up," He did it to praise and worship Him and to lead others to follow, praise and worship Him.

You may think:
"it's so hard to stop cussing, or drinking"
"I was born this way"
"our relationship is beyond repair!"
"cussing is just a habit"
"I don't have time to read the Bible"
"I forgot to pray" "I fall asleep during my prayers"
"I can't talk to people about Jesus? I'm too scared or too shy. I wouldn't know what to say."
"I'm gonna wait just a little longer to get saved. There is no hurry, right? When the time is right, I'll do it."
"I'm saved, why do i need to be baptized?"
or "its too awkward to come to church after so long, "
or "I don't want to be embarrassed.. I don't want to stand out."

What if Christ said, "Aba father, I just cannot do this. Angels come and take me home."

You'd be going to Hell; Hell is real.

Stop what you are doing! Stop being a coward! Why are you living like this? Want a better life? Christ! Want a better marriage? Christ! Want to stop a stupid habit? Christ! Want to be a better parent? Christ! Stop making excuses! God won't take excuses in Heaven!

All these excuses listed above is the devil working in your heart and mind. If your life is going good, then Satan isn't worried about you. You are not a threat to his power. If you have struggles in  your life, Satan is working hard to make you turn from Christ. Making excuses is giving into the devil himself. So if you decide to make a choice for Christ, life will get hard, but before you know it, God will bless you beyond your imagination! I have noticed, that when I am close to God, things go wrong, but I hardly notice it, because Christ is blessing me in bigger ways than Satan is trying to tear me down. We have to celebrate the small victories in our walk with Christ. We can't be discouraged, because something goes wrong. Christ's rewards are a billion times greater than how hard Satan's temptations are.

But John 3:16 says-"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believe in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life."

Your works won't get you into Heaven. Only believing that Christ died for us, and asking Him into your heart will get you to Heaven. You might ask "whats the point in living for Christ, if my works don't matter anyways?" Once I get there, I want to hear God say. "Good job my child, in you I am well pleased." We are called to live for Him, and to lead others to Him.

He has given us life to do so. Life is grand when you walk with God!

We do good works because of what has been done for us. Our job is to lead others to Christ. If we are leading them away, you will be punished. How can we expect our lives to be good, when we are so dirty in our walk with Christ. We complain of all our problems, and the worlds problems. With God in you daily life, you don't seem to recognize the bad so much. Because God is good all the time; all the time, God is good.
